Busy day

George woke up this morning to yet another great set of counts. ANC 1300 and hemoglobins and platelets on the rise as well. They took him off all of his IV lines so that means NO MORE POLE!!! Freedom at last. He is so funny. It’s like he knows he has no limitations now and is using every square inch of his room to show that. He is all over the place. He loves his new freedom. George feels great. Still zero interest in eating but that will slowly come back. This morning I was also able to sneak out to take Kate to her schools orientation. She is so fun. She gets excited about everything so imagine how excited she was to go see all of her favorite friends and teachers. She can hardly wait until it officially starts tomorrow. Just as I was getting back to the hospital I received a call from Fishweir saying Bowers was sick and had a fever. Oh so quickly do those school germs latch on. This will be one of the struggles we will have to deal with after George comes home from the hospital.



 We have two girls in school everyday and that means two times the germs coming back into our house. Even when he gets home he will have an extremely weakened immune system so trying to keep him well will be no easy feat. But we will do our best and we will take things as they come at us. We can not live in a bubble. We will just need a lot of Jesus and Purell.  Busy but very happy day. Rejoicing once again and thanking God for his goodness.  The Lord sustains him on his sickbed, in his illness he restores him to full health. Psalm 41:3

I always wanted twins. Twins run in my moms family so I somewhat imagined it might actually happen. George’s transplant was a complete success. They are identical twins in every way internally. They share the exact same DNA. Our second child literally saved our third child’s life and now they will forever have a bond that only identical twins share. We made it

Today was the last day of Chemo, for now. He will have to have two more Rounds after his transplant but very mild ones. He did it!!! Praise the Lord that this portion is over. Still in shock that he made it through the whole thing without any noticeable side effects. God protected him and kept him strong through each day.   Tomorrow is the big day for our Kate. She arrives at the crack of dawn to undergo her 3 hour surgery to harvest her bone marrow. They will go in through her hips and take around 9oz. We need prayers for her safety through this procedure. Pray for no infections and no complications for her. Pray for no contamination in the marrow as it is being harvested so that George can get the most pure and perfect cells. Pray for courage for Kate. She is excited but I know when she gets here tomorrow she will be nervous and a little scared. She has a tender little heart.
