Tonsillectomy Time
Monday morning at 8:45am George will be going into surgery have his tonsils and adenoids removed. When he had his scans of his sinus and chest done in preparation for his transplant they decided that this would be a necessary surgery before he began. This is a surgery that many children have performed but because of George’s disease he is more at risk for complications due to infections and healing. This is a hard surgery to recover from for anyone and will be especially hard for him. Please keep him and his doctors in your prayers Monday morning as well as the weeks following while he recovers. He will most likely only spend 2 nights in the hospital and will be able to come home to heal for the remainder. When he heals from this, we will again start the process of transplant countdown. We are shooting for the end of July but again, that could all change depending on his health after this surgery. I am looking forward to seeing George sleep and breathe better once this is completed. Poor guy has always struggled with this due to his enormous tonsils. You know they are big when his ENT dr was taken back when he examined George. “Whoa, those are huge!” So, that is the latest with our little Georgie. Monday morning at Wolfsons. Big prayers for our boy.
You've got it!
