Not all hero’s wear capes

The whole insurance saga began in November with them denying George coverage on this particular type of chemo that was to help attack and destroy his hemolytic anemia. After a few failed appeals and a few other failed attempts medicine wise to heal his condition brought on by his transplant, the drs were in an urgent state. George does need this medicine. He can not continue to get blood transfusions constantly. Hours were spent by drs and nurses researching articles from other drs around the world proving that this medicine is the answer. Hours were spent by drs and nurses on phone calls with the insurance company pleading his case. Hours were put into letters composed by his transplant team explaining his need for this. All to no avail. They still denied it. This morning after another hour of getting nowhere with them on the phone his nurse called to say that they were going to have to get a conference call together to once again appeal the denial. All along God had a plan. A few days ago while casually speaking with friends about this matter I was told that they could help get this approved. As nice of a gesture as it was I didn’t really think that this could be possible since we had gotten no where with it before. Well I was informed about an hour ago that they indeed got it passed by the insurance. What???!!!! Tears were flowing. Disbelief was abound. How could this even be possible? How could one little conversation turn into the solution and approval of this very important and life saving drug for George? God, and these special friends, that’s how. God placed these people in our lives a few years ago and they have been such a blessing to us in so many ways. Who could have known though that they would play such a huge role in George’s recovery. The news of this spread like wildfire in the hospital and everyone was in tears. All the work put into this without any resolve and just like that our hero stepped in and made it all possible. We will be forever thankful for this amazing gift. George will begin his new round of chemo on Monday thanks to our Super Hero. Thank you Lord for placing this family in our lives. Thank you for all of the hard work put in by George’s drs and nurses to try and get this resolved. Thank you Lord for this amazing news.        "And may the Lord reward you for your kindness ..."
