Family time

Image
Since being home from the hospital we have been busy but having a great time. George is doing so well. You can’t tell at all that he has anything wrong with him. He is just loving being home with his family and being able to be out and about (a little). This has been so good for my soul too. If you know me you know that I like to keep busy with fun plans. The seclusion section of this whole process may be harder on me then the kids 😂.  The girls are both in camps this week and I am working hard to help get everything at work done before I will be away for so long. We are also still  back and forth between Nemours and Wolfsons for all of the tests and procedures. So although there is nothing new to report on George’s health, I thought I would just let everyone know what we are up to. We are excited and looking forward to being able to celebrate the 4th of July. It’s one of our favorite holidays and we did not think we would be able to partake in any celebration this year. It may sound

Busting Out

Today we were able to leave the hospital. George will continue taking antibiotics at home to heal up his pneumonia and will be back on his daily Neupegen shots until after his tonsils are removed. That surgery is scheduled for July 8th. The recovery on that will be a little over 2 weeks. After that we can start getting the dates lined up again for his transplant. It is looking like it will now be at the end of July. We had a great stay at the hospital and are now looking forward to spending some good family time together for the next few weeks. Prayers that his body continues to heal from his pneumonia and that we can go into his next surgery in top shape. As we were leaving we got a wonderful send off from Joey the Service dog. We packed our bags and rode out in style. Goodbye for now, Weaver 4. .

Learning the ropes

George walks laps around his floor all day every day so it only seems fitting that he learns how to carry his own pole with him. Being the genius that he is, he has figured out the best way to navigate his new best friend. #ivlife

His Favorite Visitors

George had a surprise today from his two favorite people. Kate and Bowers came busting in the door at just the right time to lift everyones spirits.  Laughter and Love are Good for the heart!

A little set back

Image
This morning we were told that George has double pneumonia. This came as a total surprise. He seems 100% healthy right now. They did a CT scan of his lungs yesterday as a standard protocol for his pre transplant check list. Well the results showed the double pneumonia. He will be put back onto Neupegen and given antibiotics. When this clears up he will then need to have his Adenoids and Tonsils removed. When he is all healed up from both of those then we will be able to begin the process of the transplant again. For now it is being postponed for at least a month. We will be staying in the hospital until they get everything under control with his pneumonia. I will be meeting with more drs today to find out the plan of what we do from here. I will let you know more when I do. Please pray for this to clear up without any further complications and that his surgery goes perfectly and does not cause any other health problems. This is a set back indeed but it is all just part of this whole pr

A few days early

This evening we are in the ER and are being admitted to the hospital. George had a little fever today and so we had to bring him in. All his tests so far have come back good so they aren’t sure what caused the fever. He will have lots of tests tomorrow and they think he may be staying in for the long haul. We were suppose to check in early Friday morning so they may just keep him until then. All is well. He is happy and doesn’t seem sick at all. This just means we are being extra cared for until  his procedure begins on Friday. So for the next few days we Netflix and Chill ✌🏼

Frequently Asked Questions

A dear friend of mine had a wonderful suggestion for me to post some frequently asked questions. So here were some of the questions and hopefully it will help. Q -Are we allowed to visit with people or play or go do things during this "seclusion" time? A - No. We are staying at our house and limiting our visitors to our parents and siblings who are helping with babysitting. We are not suppose to go to any public places or be around anyone for the most part. We have to make sure that no germs are brought into the house or brought around the kids. This is tricky because although someone may feel totally fine they could be carrying something and not know about it yet. Some virus take 10 days to show symptoms. Our only outings are to Dr appointments. Q - Does the seclusion period end when George checks in on the 21st? A - No. Kate does not check in until July 1st so it is very important that she does not get any sickness whatsoever before she is admitted. This would be a

Timeline update

George will now be checking into the hospital to begin his conditioning on Friday June 21st.  Everything is ok but they needed to add on some treatments to his original plan of conditioning. So tomorrow will be the last day for him to receive his shots of Neupegen. This means he will no longer have the protection from viruses or bacteria. So please just be praying for health for him leading up to the 21st when he checks in to start his journey.
