Hurricane Dorian

We dodged a bullet with this storm. Not only did we not have any damage, flooding or power outages, we barely even had rain. We also survived being all together for 7 days under one roof and being confined to the indoors because of George. Can I get an AMEN! I mean it was touch and go a few times with the kids bickering. We did enjoy some good family game time and movie marathons too. We pulled out a barely loose tooth of Bowers as one of our forms of entertainment as well. Can you tell we were bored. We all managed to get the same cold with low grade fevers as well but nothing that was a threat to George’s health thank the Lord. We will go in for another appointment tomorrow to check his counts and internal health. On the outside he seems to be doing just wonderful. He even looks to be getting his normal skin color back again. He has been so pale for a few weeks. His energy is high and his attitude is amazing. Always playful and always making us laugh. He has a really funny personality. So back to school tomorrow, finally for one day and then another weekend together 😂.  I am so thankful for this time together as a whole family. I am just kidding, sort of, about all the time spent together. We all love each other but even George appreciates a little alone time once and again. We will have a lemonade stand this afternoon on our block and I am having the girls donate the money to a relief fund that a friend put together for the Bahamas. Hey, even if they only make $5 it will be a great lesson to teach them about  giving in times of need. If you are in our area around 4 today then come on by. It will make their day!

Twins

I always wanted twins. Twins run in my moms family so I somewhat imagined it might actually happen. What I did not imagine was it happening at the ripe old age of 42.  They may not have shared a womb or even been born in the same year but Kate and George are officially twins. 100% engraftment! George’s transplant was a complete success. They are identical twins in every way internally. They share the exact same DNA. Our second child literally saved our third child’s life and now they will forever have a bond that only identical twins share. People may not have chosen this path to get twins and frankly I wouldn’t have either but I would not change even a second of any of it. We made it

Today was the last day of Chemo, for now. He will have to have two more Rounds after his transplant but very mild ones. He did it!!! Praise the Lord that this portion is over. Still in shock that he made it through the whole thing without any noticeable side effects. God protected him and kept him strong through each day.   Tomorrow is the big day for our Kate. She arrives at the crack of dawn to undergo her 3 hour surgery to harvest her bone marrow. They will go in through her hips and take around 9oz. We need prayers for her safety through this procedure. Pray for no infections and no complications for her. Pray for no contamination in the marrow as it is being harvested so that George can get the most pure and perfect cells. Pray for courage for Kate. She is excited but I know when she gets here tomorrow she will be nervous and a little scared. She has a tender little heart.
