Platelet party part 2

This morning George had his regular dr appointment where they draw labs. We showed them how his skin had several areas of petechia (the blood rash). This can be signs of Graft versus Host disease. He has not been eating very well either. They told us to watch out for more or worsen petechia  and any signs of stomach pain or diarrhea. After we were home for a few hours I was called by his dr and told to bring him back in for another platelet transfusion. His platelets has dropped to 8. Normal range is around 150. As soon as we got there he also had a big diaper of diarrhea. He just finished his transfusion and now we will wait to see what happens with his levels. He will go back in on Thursday morning to be rechecked unless things take a turn for the worse before then. All of his other levels and counts were really good so the dr is still holding onto hope that this is just his cold virus that is making his platelets drop so low. All of the other signs however are pointing toward Graft versus Host disease. Please be praying for George. Please pray that this is not the case. If this is the case please pray that they can get it Under control fast and turn it around before anything serious happens. I will not go into any details about this but we need for him to come around and for this to be able to be nipped in the bud.  Although we are home from the hospital we are still not even half way through his transplant. He is only at day 42 of 100. It is easy to forget that he is still very much in a vulnerable state. This is a huge wake up call for us to not let up on the constant praying and constant protecting of him. He needs to be in as much of a bubble as we can provide. This common cold has set him back a ton. Imagine if he were to contract anything actually serious. The Lord has brought us this far and will continue to carry us to his victory. We will not be shaken. We will however be vigilant prayer warriors and not forget about how serious his condition still is. This journey is far from over. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
