Love is in the air

This morning George had a treat for all of the kids who are on the hematology/oncology floor. A sweet friend whose children go to Assumption catholic school had the PreK and 4th graders all hand make Valentines for George to hand out. It was such a thoughtful and fun thing for them to do and George was so excited to be the little Cupid to deliver them. I know this will brighten all of their day to know others were thinking about them. Thank you to all of the students involved in this loving project and for my friend for organizing it. The first appointment we had today was for his labs. His counts came back pretty good. Everything had come up except for his hemoglobin. But the hemoglobin has only dropped from 10.1 to 9.9 so that isn’t terrible. Hooray!!! He does not have to go back until Friday now for his blood typing for his transfusion unless he has any health changes this week. The second appointment we went to was his orthopedic specialist to talk about his swollen ankle. He said that he did not think there was any infection at all and it was most likely just a sprain that is healing. Praise the Lord!! Praise the Lord!! Praise the Lord!! What an answered prayer. This was such wonderful news. George is healing and will continue to heal every day. It just is a reminder of who is ultimately in charge of this whole process. When I feel discouraged or fearful I need to stop, take a deep breath, pray and trust God. Trust His plan. Praise Him always and to be patient. This week is going to be filled with lots of fun. Lots of thanksgiving. Lots of celebrating. Lots of love. One thing it will not be filled with is doubt and discouragement. I know that this process will work. I know that George will be healed. I know that the ups and downs just keep me close with God and for that I am very thankful.
The Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous. Psalm 146:8
